Dr Carmelo Dambone

Dr Carmelo Dambone is a clinical and forensic psychologist, psychotherapist, clinical sexologist, family mediator and couples counsellor. He has extensive experience and expertise in supporting vulnerable people, with a particular focus on victims of violence. His clinical work primarily addresses psychological, emotional, sexual and existential distress, including therapeutic interventions focused on conflict within couples.

He collaborates with several national scientific societies and is a supervisor and lecturer at various specialist psychotherapy schools. He is also President and Founder of the Italian Society of Forensic Clinical Psychology, a lecturer at IULM University in Milan, where he teaches “Communication, Mass Media and Crime”, and Scientific Director of the advanced training course “Interviewing and Assessing the Competence to Testify of Children Who Are Victims of Sexual Abuse and Maltreatment”.

He was one of 16 Italian professionals who participated in the working group responsible for drafting and signing the latest update of the Carta di Noto IV (14 October 2017), national guidelines on interviewing child witnesses.

A speaker at numerous conferences and training events, he is the author of many scientific and general-interest publications, including articles and book chapters on distress and conflict in family and social settings.
